CreatorCon is a not-for profit community project that aims to bring comics and other sequential art (zines, animation, etc) to the broader Australian public through promotion and events.
Currently selling t-shirt through Redbubble, all proceeds go towards running events in cities around the country to help up and coming artists showcase their work.
Creator Con aims to start small, but with the help of the community and the talented arts creators of this country we hope to build something to be proud of – creator focused events for creators, by creators!
The Team
Frank Candiloro is an award-winning comic artist/animator, residing in Melbourne. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, Frank spent 8 years in the local film and animation industry before making the jump to sequential arts in 2009 with the webcomic “The Adventures Of White Wolf” as well as the comedy series “Millennial Monsters” in the local anthology “Yuck!”.
As a co-founder of Creatorcon, Frank is passionate about Australian sequential arts and everything they stand for. Along with Alisha Jade, he hopes to bring about a wider awareness of the art form across Australia, as well as championing the local creator and their individual vision.
Alisha Jade is currently residing in Brisbane, perpetually trying to figure out the nuts and bolts of quitting her day job to work in the arts full time. It will probably happen out of necessity when she finally stabs a co worker in the eye with a fork.
Alisha currently runs two webcomics through her site ajadeart.com, Seven and CC. She also loves pinups and hopes that in running creator focused events the wider community will learn more about this wondrous artform. Alisha is also a fan of zines, and is working towards setting up a Brisbane based distro in future.
